This book grew out of your doctoral research at the University of Chicago so we know many years of work went into it. Going back to the beginning, what initially drew you to Bonhoeffer’s theology as a topic for your dissertation? In short, “Why Bonhoeffer?” AD: Thank you for your interest in my book and your invitation to discuss it. I started reading Bonhoeffer’s Discipleship in high school and his Ethics at Wheaton College.
